Complimentary Practices

Before studying Tai Chi & Qi Gong, I practiced various techniques of seated meditation. I found that anapana and body scanning meditation became foundations for my tai chi practice. Not only did it show me the nature of the mind and thoughts - on an experiential level it displayed the interconnectedness of nature, and how our bodies become the storing house for memories (good and bad) as well as traumas. I use this as a reference point for stillness in tai chi and qi gong. When the mind and body become still, qi spontaneously moves like a fountain.
