Zhan Zhuang

Zhan Zhuang (standing like a tree) is an internal discipline which can be used as a foundation for qigong and tai chi. The practice involves a static position, feet shoulder width apart with the arms chest height (palms facing inwards) and using the imagination, the practitioner allows their arms to rest on a large ball. Within the practice, meditation and deeply listening to the body helps to clear and dissolve blockages along meridians. It can be practiced to begin with for five minutes, and as the practitioners understanding develops, they can continue to build up to an hour +.
